Houry Maljian
Founder and Brand PR and Communication Consultant
Born and raised in Saudi Arabia, Houry holds a B.A. in Communication Studies and Theory from Toronto, Canada. With 12 years of experience in Dubai’s publishing and public relations industries, she brings a multicultural, intuitive, and multilayered approach to brand storytelling and communications.
Her career began in publishing, where she worked as an editor and creative director for a luxury lifestyle magazine. She led high-profile editorial features, fashion shoots, and brand partnerships with global names such as Dior, Louis Vuitton, Tiffany & Co., Gucci, Guerlain, and more.
Later, she transitioned into the fast-paced world of public relations, quickly building a reputation for strategic thinking, resilience, and the ability to manage multiple high-value clients simultaneously. Houry successfully developed and implemented communication strategies for a vast portfolio of local and international clients across different industries, including dining, nightlife and hospitality, design and interiors, business, film, fashion, beauty, non-profit, education and home healthcare. Under the PR umbrella, she excelled in project management, managed high profile events, press conferences, venue and product launches, menu tastings, exhibitions, media campaigns, and brand partnerships.
Becoming a mother was a turning point — both personally and professionally. Houry took on the role of Brand and Community Manager at a leading maternity nursing company, focusing on pregnancy and postnatal support for new parents. Here, she discovered her purpose: combining her communications expertise with a deep passion for child development, health and wellbeing, early learning, parenting, and family dynamics.
Recognizing the growing need for specialized support in this niche, she founded ApricotPR in 2021 — an independent, integrated agency dedicated to brands and businesses in the early childhood space.
