Houry Maljian
Founder and Strategic PR & Communication Consultant 

Born and raised in Saudi Arabia and educated in Canada, I hold a B.A. in Communication Studies and Theory and have spent over 12 years building my career within Dubai’s publishing and public relations landscape.

 

I began in luxury publishing, working as an editor and creative director for a leading lifestyle magazine. I led high-profile editorial features, fashion productions, and brand collaborations with global names including Dior, Louis Vuitton, Tiffany & Co., Gucci, and Guerlain. That chapter shaped my instinct for storytelling, positioning, and understanding how powerful brands build perception and desire.

I later transitioned into public relations, where I developed and led communication strategies across hospitality, design, fashion, business, film, non-profit, education, and healthcare. I managed large-scale launches, press conferences, experiential events, media campaigns, and strategic brand partnerships — always approaching each project with both creative intuition and commercial awareness.

Motherhood marked a turning point in my journey. While working as Brand and Community Manager for a leading maternity nursing company, I found myself naturally drawn toward the parenting, early learning, and child development space. What started as a personal shift became a clear professional focus: supporting brands that shape the lives of families.

 

In 2021, I founded ApricotPR — an independent consultancy dedicated to brands serving parents, children, and the broader early years ecosystem. Since then, I’ve worked with award-winning local and international brands, including the UAE’s largest early education group, helping position them with clarity, credibility, and meaningful visibility in a highly competitive market.
